1. Workshop Agenda

This workshop aims to get you going with the essentials to use the Jupyterhub system at the University of Bremen.

The format of this introduction is still experimental, so your feedback on what you find useful or not is appreciated.

We will aim to cover, in a 2 hour period:

• Introduction on how to log in and access the system

• Concepts on Servers/Profiles/Environments

• Basic usage of the User Interface

• Formatting cells with code, documentation, graphics

• Installing additional packages via conda, pip

• Cell “Magic” via %, ! prefix

• Interactive Widgets

• First steps in loading and plotting data

• Pointers to didactic materials

• Pointers to additional usage materials developed in-house

Then we will have hopefully time to explore your own interests and contents, so please bring representative datasets or problems along.
