For your course material you could place an .ipynb file offline, e.g. in StudIP (https://elearning.uni-bremen.de), or via an external website. Users could then upload these files directly into their workspace.
An advanced method is to generate a specific start environment for your course, which can then be selected in the initial kernel selection.
Note
In detail, this method works via a pre-defined git repository with your notebook and files, as in 1. above. This needs to be configured by the JupyterHub administrator. This is the method by which the Examples folder in all FB05 servers is linked in at server starting time.
