Welcome to the JupyterHub facility at the University of Bremen#

What is Jupyter? From the official documentation at https://jupyter.org:

“JupyterLab is the latest web-based interactive development environment for notebooks, code, and data. Its flexible interface allows users to configure and arrange workflows in data science, scientific computing, computational journalism, and machine learning. A modular design invites extensions to expand and enrich functionality.” https://jupyter.org

In short, it is a virtual computer with builtin graphical user interface to construct interactive worksheets that contain computations, documentation, graphics and more.

This document provides first steps to get started, and links for further information. The Jupyter system at the University of Bremen uses the JupyterHub version of this tool, which is documented fully here, and for the technically interested, in a cluster environment with a distributed high-performance file-system.
